Most people would agree that raising children can be complicated. For instance, tasks that should be simple may be more complex than you would normally expect. Even mundane tasks like brushing your little one’s teeth can, at times, seem nearly impossible—or at least not worth the effort. However, as you know, dental health is extremely important, meaning it’s important to teach your children good habits at an early age. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to make the process easier—such as choosing the right toothpaste for your little one.
Would you be surprised to learn that if you give your little one the wrong toothpaste, they may be less likely to enjoy brushing—and as you may know, if your child doesn’t enjoy brushing you’ll probably have an even harder time brushing. For instance, while you may enjoy mint toothpaste, your child probably won’t. Instead, we recommend giving your child a fruity toothpaste they’ll enjoy.
Similarly, fluoride may be good for your teeth, but did you know it can be harmful if swallowed—and since children under three can’t spit their toothpaste out, it’s generally better to get a toothpaste without fluoride in it.
Of course, brushing your child’s teeth can feel like a daunting task, but using the correct toothpaste for your child can make brushing fun and give you the opportunity to teach your child correct oral care techniques.
